As a visual way to reflect Showtime's "AfterHours" programming which often included more explicit content, the language of neon seemed an appropriate vehicle. Live action was shot to create a series of ID's which were used as quick branding devices to reinforce the slightly racier shows in the late hours and evoke the feeling of things switching on and coming alive late at night.
